Severn Glocon had a very successful week at this year’s Offshore Europe exhibition with over 300 visitors to our stand. The crowd draw was our fully operational integrated HIPPS model that demonstrated real time scenarios experienced by a true HIPPS out in the field.
Severn Glocons’ Exida Certified Functional Safety Professionals (CFSP) ran through various scenarios such as
– Closure due to over-pressurisation.
– Partial stroke testing without impact on production.
– Maintaining the HIPPS components (pressure transmitters) in-line whilst maintaining logic solver control.
– Demonstration of the in-house designed human/machine interface (HMI) and process mimic.
The logic solver, Planar4 system, provided by Hima-Sella was the ‘brains behind the brawn’ working perfectly with the HIPPS model, it too generated a lot of interest.
The HIPPS model will now travel to the Middle East for training and demonstrations, it will return to the UK at the end of the year and will be available for HIPPS training sessions to be delivered via the British Valve and Actuator Association (BVAA) in 2016.’
